WELCOME to my very first beach read. The good weather is finally here and sun kissed days lounging at the pool are finally upon us. If you’re dreaming of sun, sea, and sand or a pool day with the girls, then our Chérina Beachwear Collection will have you oozing with glamour as you chill in the sun.
I am excited to share my personal journey with you all.
Where it all began… I remember one Saturday morning, drinking my coffee before the dreaded FEAR would kick in. That’s how I usually spent my Saturdays; drowning in a sea of paperwork, lesson planning and grading my student’s papers. (The not so glamorous life of a teacher) Don’t get me wrong, I loved teaching and I have no regrets about the years I spent as a teacher and the wonderful students who I was lucky enough to teach, but something inside me always knew that I wouldn’t be a teacher forever.
I am a very glass half full kind of person and despite the many stumbles and knocks I’ve gotten over the years, I’m somehow still standing, and in some ways I feel stronger that I’ve ever felt. I’ve always been a bit of an organized perfectionist which I’ve always used to my advantage. I suppose I’m just very driven and I get an adrenaline rush from getting things exactly the way I visualized them. I wanted to bring that same adrenaline and passion to Chérina Beachwear. Anyone who knows me will know it’s all or nothing with me. If I am doing something, I do it with every inch of me until I cannot give anymore.
Fashion has always been a huge part of my life growing up. I spent quite a lot of time getting my clothes tailored, which allowed me to add my own special touches to give character to my clothes. I guess it was then that I realized I had a talent at styling and it drove me on to style outfits for my family and friends. It was a hobby for me, but I suppose at the back of my mind, there was always the dream that I would eventually turn this hobby into something bigger. But like everything in life, I kept telling myself someday…
In the end, I decided to stop saying “SOMEDAY”. I thought if not now, then when? Life is too short for what ifs. Was I scared? PETRIFIED!!! But I was so lucky to have my amazing husband, Jose, who has been a complete rock in this journey along with my family and close friends. Being surrounded by positive people who motivate, inspire and encourage me has been a vital part of my journey.
One of my favorite ways to relax and de stress is to go to the beach. To me, the beach is the most peaceful place on earth. There's just no place quite as relaxing, and no place that combines the simple pleasures of unwinding from the social media frenzy and work-driven realities. Spending so much time on the beach meant I was always on the hunt for the PERFECT beach wear. And that was when the idea of Cherina Beachwear really came to the forefront.
After starting off with a small collection to test the water, we were thrilled with the response and feedback. From there, we have really worked endlessly in perfecting our collection. Having said that, hard work doesn’t scare me, in fact it excites me! I live by this quote “If your dreams don’t scare you, there are not big enough”. I’ve always had a very strong work ethic which has kept me focused and motivated. But above all else, I pride myself on my integrity. I believe when we listen to our hearts and do the right thing, life becomes simple. We are 100% genuine and we always want the very best for our customers.
Beachwear can be something that people dread shopping for which I completely understand. That’s why I wanted to created a platform where people can order pieces online and try them on in the comfort of their own homes. I wanted my collection to represent me and what I believe in. We strive to bring you quality pieces that are chic, yet affordable. Not only are our pieces on trend, but they are authentic and diverse to flatter every figure while you play or slay by the pool or on the beach. As I sit here only days away from launching Cherina Beachwear, I am feeling every kind of emotion. My heart is so full of joy, love, gratitude and hope. I am optimistic about the future of Cherina Beachwear and I really hope that you will follow us on our journey.
